HYBRID SOLAR & STORAGE

Keep the essentials.
Define what matters.

A battery becomes easier to choose when its job is clear. Start with the appliances or circuits you want to support, the power they draw and the hours you need them, then assess a compatible Felicity Solar system.

Is the goal stored solar, outage backup, or both?

Storing daytime energy for later use is not the same as maintaining supply during a grid outage. Backup requires suitable inverter operation, circuit separation and a design that safely isolates the property from the grid.

01

Power is the immediate load

The equipment running together determines the instantaneous demand. Starting surges and inverter limits matter, even when the battery has energy remaining.

02

Energy determines duration

Battery capacity and appliance running time are related, but nameplate capacity is not all usable energy. Reserve settings, losses and operating limits reduce what can be delivered.

03

Compatibility is model-specific

An inverter and battery carrying the same brand name are not automatically a compatible pair. The exact models, supported configuration and installation requirements need checking.

Write an essential-load list.

List the fridge, lighting, communications or other equipment that must remain available. Separate genuinely essential loads from those you could leave off. A shorter, realistic list creates a more useful assessment than “back up the whole house”.

Record rated power where you can obtain it safely from documentation or a label. Do not open equipment or electrical enclosures. Motors and compressors can have starting demands that are not represented by a simple running-power figure. The designer must account for these.

Treat runtime as a design output.

A battery’s kWh label is not a promise that particular appliances will run for a fixed number of hours. Useful duration depends on charge level, permitted discharge, reserve settings, losses and the actual load. Conditions can also change during an outage.

Our planner collects the demand assumptions for discussion. It does not certify a battery size, switching behaviour or whole-property backup. The appointed implementation partner confirms the system design and agreed backup circuits.

Make the Felicity Solar configuration explicit.

We work with Felicity Solar product options. For a hybrid proposal, ask for the inverter model, battery model, supported configuration, installation location and warranty route together. Future battery expansion should be checked against that specific system rather than assumed.

If you already have solar, an existing inverter or existing storage, bring the model details. Retaining equipment is a compatibility question, not simply a matter of adding more capacity. For grid-connected projects, the relevant utility requirements remain part of the design.

OUR PRODUCT RANGE

Felicity Solar.
Selected for the job.

Our product range is Felicity Solar. We help match the panel, inverter and battery options to your property and priorities, rather than treating each component as a separate purchase.

The proposal needs to identify the exact models, their compatibility, installation scope and applicable warranty terms. A product family alone does not establish backup performance or utility approval.

Use this list to prepare. These checks are a starting point, not technical approval.

Put the essential load into numbers.

2.00 kWh of raw load energy.

Watts × hours ÷ 1,000. This is energy consumed by a constant load, not a battery size or runtime promise. It excludes starting surges, losses, reserves and usable-capacity limits.

  • Essential appliances or circuits
  • Rated running power and any known surge loads
  • Desired duration and acceptable interruptions
  • Existing inverter/battery model details
