Meralco net-metering requirements: prepare by responsibility.

Customer documents: complete the current Net-Metering Application Form. If using an authorized representative, Meralco asks for the representative’s valid ID and the required authorization documents. Use the official Documentary Requirements Checklist for the applicable phase.

Technical information: have the qualified implementation team confirm the proposed system details. Meralco asks for an Annex Sheet where the system has multiple models or ratings of panels, inverters or batteries, or where the customer is primary-metered. Meralco may request additional supporting documents during evaluation.

Completion documents: coordinate the Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) with the local government unit. Meralco supplies the Net-Metering Agreement and Fixed-Asset Boundary Document (FABD). If choosing not to install a REC meter, its published process calls for the applicable signed and notarized affidavit and waiver.

Fees and filing: confirm which payments apply to your case and follow the current Meralco and ERC instructions. Keep payment evidence and assign responsibility for the remaining documents. Requirements and local-government procedures can differ; this checklist does not replace Meralco’s current forms or approval.

Follow the utility’s current process.

Meralco’s published sequence starts with the application and required documents, then technical evaluation of the proposed connection. Its Distribution Impact Study considers whether the network can accommodate the system and whether changes may be necessary.

Further stages cover service-entrance inspection, remaining documentation and applicable payments, energisation and commissioning, and transmittal for ERC processing. Requirements depend on the project and current utility and local-government rules. Use the official checklist rather than a copied list that may become outdated.

Do not confuse grid connection with backup.

Meralco’s commissioning guidance includes an anti-islanding check: the solar PV system must disconnect during a grid outage to protect equipment and people who may come into contact with electrical lines. Ordinary grid-connected solar is not a substitute for a separately designed backup supply.

If outage power matters, discuss the compatible inverter, battery and selected backup circuits as part of a hybrid assessment. A battery does not waive the grid-safety requirements or establish permission to export.

Confirm who handles each requirement.

We help you understand the assessment questions and qualify the solar enquiry. The appointed implementation partner confirms the technical design and agreed installation and permit scope. The utility makes the connection decision; we do not issue utility approval or claim Meralco affiliation.

Meralco guidance is relevant to properties served by Meralco. If another distribution utility serves the property, confirm its current procedure directly. Keep the system models, connection route, application responsibility and any excluded tasks clear in the written proposal.
